Jose Aliaga is from Downey, California. He is pursuing his master’s degree in nursing at Charles R. Drew University. Nursing runs in Jose’s family. His mom took care of their family while attending nursing school to become an OBGYN nurse. She is Jose’s inspiration and role model to become a registered nurse. Jose attributes his success to his environment, where he heard other Latinos talking about careers in the medical field to have a better future for themselves and their families. He advises aspiring nursing students to look everywhere for resources and information on the field. Jose describes registered nurses as valiant and thick-skinned.
